Hi all - I am looking for a petrol brushcutter to keep my allotment under control - I would like to get a decent one that will last more than one season but I don't really want to spend much more than about £150 - can anyone offer any reccomendations?

I just got a Draper Expert 45576 32 cc Petrol Brush Cutter and Line Trimmer a few weeks back primarily to clear a plot for a small orchard. See the thread I started here: http://chat.allotment-garden.org/index.php?topic=103852.15

In short, it works very well, and I'm very happy with it.

I've used a Ryobi 30cc and it was terrible. Stihl are marvellous but probably double what you want to pay.

hi i suggest hireing one first that way you can try for weight and power .Dont forget strimmers and brushcutters are different machines ,strimmers are usually up to27cc above that up to 39 ccare brushcutters 40ccto59 cc are clearing saws .Be careful with a blade on i once cleared an allotment  with brushcutter and took 1/4 inch angle iron supports down with one swipe  jezza
