Title: peaky toms
Post by: hiccup on May 26, 2016, 18:59
Evening All
Some of my tomatoes are looking a tad pale , Alicante's. The rest look fine, and all in the same
greenhouse. Do they need a feed of something, do you think, they were all potted up a week
ago, in 11 inch pots with 50/50 garden soil and well rotted horse manure. Any thoughts would be
                  welcomed.

What size pot were they in before?

What sort of compost are they in?

What have your overnight temperatures been?

hi Yorkie

they were in 5 inch pots before going into the 11 inch pots. the soil they are in is half and half
garden soil and well rotted horse manure. We have had big temperature fluctuations. down to
three's and four's overnight and up to high twenties and thirties by day.

I think the temperature variations are likely to be the main cause here even though the other varieties are doing OK.  Tomatoes don't like it under 10C at night, and such high temps after cold nights can stress them.
