Hi

my lotty neighbour has built a timber frame on the original brick base where a green house used to be,  then covered with polly secured lats to corners and edges etc.  it looks ok and hopefully will work we are on an exposed site so hope the weather dont damage it

good luck its worth a try if it dont work the wood will come to good use on another project

Cant ask on freecycle for help with things! I have ran into this problem before! You have to be saving something from landfill or else you get put on moderation, which i am currently on :(

Thats a bit tight.  We are allowed to ask for one item a month.  At the end of the day if a person answers with an item then that is an item that is o longer in use by the giver so you are saving them storage space and it still isn't going in land fill.  I have given away a couple of things due to wanted ads that I had simply forgotten were there and the receivers were so grateful I'd do it again happily!

There's pictures of my edifice in the album. I spent about £70 on it in the end the rest was scrounged out of skips and off my friend Martin who is a carpenter.
My only advice would be to pick your site carefully - mine was relocated by a storm and is now wired to the fence.
Have a go with what you can get hold of. You can always alter it later, in the true allotment tradition.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Keep checking your local free paper in the grenhouse section, there's quite often in mine people willing to give greenhouses away if you can come to collect. That's how I got mine.

i am hopefully getting a greenhouse off of a friend at the end of the season -

but i have also managed to pick up a frame - with no glass - i was thinking of using it as a frame to constuct a weatherproof shelter (in my garden) using taurp - and a bit of board as extra roof support - do you think that would work ok -

Try page 14.

They're held together with canes thro and fixed to the frame

might be an inspiration to something similar for someone?

Oh yeah, hi everyone.

Makes a change, joining a forum to offer advice rather than to seek it.

Guess I'll be making a few of those posts soon tho'
