so I was going to plant sweetpeas and edible peas together on my allotment until i mentioned it to one of the old boys and he told me that I could make hybrid poisioned peas.

I only wanted the sweetpeas for the bees ( i wanted to be all organic and what not ) and I really don't believe that the sweetpeas and edible peas will cross polinate and make poision peas. but now im not so sure.  :blink:

Ive never grown them together before and the last thing I want to do is make everyone ill with my crazy evil hybrid pea soup come next year . Any advice would be greatly accepted.

Peas self pollinate and it is very unlikely they will cross.

The way I understand it pea flowers fertilise themselves before  the flowers even open

You can get the odd fluke, (per Graden Organic Seed Guardian seed saving guide lines), but that right  99.9999999999999999999% of the time.
