What can I do with a Hybrid Cockerel (except eat it)????

Hi I have quite a few hybrid cockerels they are still young at 12 weeks but I ma not sure what to do with them?? 'i know I can eat them but what else can I do? I am going to put them in with my Rhode Island Reds and Light Sussex hens soon!

Apart from eating them as said there is little you can do. I've a chap locally that takes the bodies way as he is a keen maker or fishing hook/lures for fly fishing and certain feathers (the cape i belive) are of value to him. At least the cockerel has been of a small use.

If they're Rhode Island x Light Sussex hybrids, that's a Goldline, isn't it, which is a recognised breed?

Hybrid hens are bred for laying eggs, the cockerels are worth nothing as you can't breed from them to get a recognised breed. Even pure bred cockerels are hard to sell now, best we can do is re-home them, but a few months bck we had to cull 19 of our boys because we couldn't find homes for them all.
