Title: Are your hens laying?
Post by: LILLILEAF on March 01, 2023, 20:09
Now the days are getting longer mornings are lighter earlier, are your hens starting to lay.
Mine are getting into the routine now, and i have some younger birds that should start soon.
Its a shame they cannot go outside, but they are still happy in the stable with there cabbages and swedes to peck at.
Has there been any news when flock down will come to an end?.Lillileaf.

My 2 younger girls have been laying on and off all winter.  Production was just starting to ramp up, but 1 of them has now decided to go broody  ::)

Unfortunately there are still outbreaks being recorded, so flockdown being lifted could be some way off yet.

2 out of the 3 of mine are laying, the 1 not has given up in the last 3 or 4weeks. They’ve been laying most of this their 2nd winter, so not sure why no.3 has stopped now.
