Title: manure
Post by: noshed on March 08, 2006, 17:51
I've just got drenched barrowing some manure onto my plot - apparently you have to move quickly on our site or the some of the old blokes snaffle it all.
Anyway it's very strawy and steaming merrily. I was going to just cover it and leave the pile for a couple of months. Does this sound right? Some of the very strawy bits I was going to put on the compost heap.

Funny enough I was chatting about this very subject at the weekend with one of the Rons at our plot....
He said you need to leave it for a year, and then it's good to dig in...leave the straw in, as that composts down too.
Wow - if this carries on, I'll have to change my user name !!
