Last year I planted some conkers and now have about 10 small horse chestnut trees.  What the hell shall I do with them???  Hadn't thought of that when I planted them.  Doh!!!

They were planted in reaction to seeing all the problems that the species were having,  leaf miner and bleeding canker being the main problems.

Any advice on planting or nursing these specimens to adulthood most welcome...

At the end of 2017 my OH got three conkers that had fallen down from an old tree, so he thought our little niece Louisa would like to plant them in a pot which we labelled as Louisa's nuts. Blow me, they all grew! They stayed in the same pot last year, went to sleep over winter, and now they're about 1ft high. We live on the coast so it's not the right place for them here but they need a good home nearby so she can see them growing and to know how they started out. It would be nice to find a suitable place to plant them, but you just can't bung them in anywhere because they'd possibly need permission to do so. In the meantime and as we've got three, we might just take a risk and plant one in a part of our field which has the most protection from salt-laden winds etc.

Fortunately my mum has a large garden and at least 3 will go in there.

Leaves me with a few to find homes.
