Purple sprouting
« on: May 27, 2009, 19:28 »
I was a bit late with the purple sprouting last year got a good crop out of most of the plants but have a few that don't appear to be going to produce although the plants look great. Will I get any thing? Will they produce next winter if I leave them? Do I compost them. Thanks in advance

They certainly won't stand another year, can't say whether they will do anything this year or not.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Luke, I would say that if they`ve not cropped by now, then they are not going to. Get rid of them and plant something that will crop. :D

None of mine have sprouted purple bits so I have been feeding them to my hens.  They are loving them!   :)
