Injured chicken
« on: May 11, 2022, 21:23 »
Hi all, I’ve just joined and have 4  bantams. One was injured last week not sure if another bantam as vet said looked like peck marks but nothing broken. A week later and after antibiotics she still can’t walk. She is eating and drinking but I don’t want her to be in pain. Can I encourage her to walk or is it better to euthanise? She is my daughters favourite 😢Thank you

Oh dear. Poor little hen  :(

It does look like something is very wrong as she is fluffed up and looking unwell. I would say the best choice would be another trip to the vet or euthanise. She would walk if she could, so I wouldn’t try making her move if she doesn’t want to.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
