Title: Wheel Hoe
Post by: cornerhouse on March 27, 2011, 11:08
Hello
I have acquired an old wheel hoe, well most of one!
It is by Planture and has metal spoked wheels. However one needs replacing.
Anyone know where I could get a reasonably priced spare.
There are no hoe blades with it so I'll need those too

I should try Wickes for wheels, they seem to have a large selection.  If you wish to keep the period look, I think it's an expensive trip to a small blacksmiths!   Best wishes and if you fail - twosup on the hoe?   Cheers,   Tony.

Is it the Planet Jr.?  If so the website below may be of use.

I still use the wheel hoe my dad used on his market garden over 60 years ago, it's one of the best tools I have, saves hours.

All you Guys beat me to it - I'd been trying to get one for months, and finished up making my own if you're interested!

If it's the sort where the spokes interconnect, can you possibly drill and tap in a long thin bolt in it's place? Could be a job for a lad in any garage?

He might make the hoe blades as well...
