£2.99 in our local grocers or £1.00 in Tesco :shock:  :shock:  :shock:

Some growers are not making much money.

They get cheaper towards halloween too and then virtually disappear,zero production in this garden this year :( so as soon as they reach the right price in our local veg shop I will be buying a few to store a nd some to soup.I`m not sure how they make anything either.

I read that because of the poor summer that pumpkin prices were going to be huge  this halloween.a local suppiler  near me lost over 40 percent of his usal crop due to the poor weather.
that seems a bargin

Just been out for dinner and the local veg man has one at about 75lbs ish (rough estimate) for £30  :shock:  think I will put mine out for £25

what on earth would you do with a 75ib pumpkin?
do people buy them at 30 quid? :shock:

mine was just above the size of a basket ball(yes i know its not very big)
but i chopped mine  for freeing today and i had three ice cream tubs out of it.which is more than enough for me. :lol:

Mental note for next year.  Grow one large pumpkin, not several small ones.  Or better still, get the girls to grow their own pumpkins!!

I will let u know next week when we carve ours up. ours grew to 53lbs. I will have a look today to see if anyone has bought it.

Three foot pit filled with rotted muck, feed twice a week with tom food once the fruit is on and keep well watered and I only let 2 grow. Oh and played it lots of of load punk music  :wink:
