My niece (4yrs) came tearing into the kitchen earlier shouting in a mad panic "Aunty Carla...Flo's fell over and can't get up, come and help her, phone a doctor"...so I went running out to find Flo stretched out sunbathing in the run :) :)  Suppose they do look a bit 'collapsed' when they stretch their wing. Kept me smiling for ages.

 :D What a dear little niece!  Good on her for looking out for Flo!

If I hadn't seen pics of sunbathing chickens, I would have been horrified when I first saw my chooks doing it.  They look completely mangled!  :blink:  Wings, legs and heads all sprawled out at odd angles... anyone would think they'd got in the way of the roadworks.

I had a very panicked 8 year old son when he saw our huge cockerel mounting our smallest chicken - you could hardly see her and they are hardly the gentlest, grabbing hold of her neck feathers.  He was devestated and thought he was killing her!!!   We had to have THAT conversation and she is now called Squish :lol:
