[Brassica Blaz]

hi everyone,i must say i'm really eager to get my onion sets and spuds in ,but the soil is really wet and sticky after all the rain recently.would it be wise to wait until it begins to dry out before i plant them or is it ok to plant now?i dont want to get behind! :unsure:everyone seems to be getting there spuds in last week or so.am i panicking unecessarily?

Dont think much will grow in cold wet soil so you will be fine for a few weeks yet thing's always catch up.

You could always try covering thr ground with somehting like cardboard, or polythene as at least it won't get wetter

use your soil coditions as a planting guide.and your soil is screaming keep off for now.
onions planted too early will bolt mid summer

take things nice and steady,very often you end up with better crops than those that rushed things.if the soil is sticking to ya boots leave well alone.

If you put them in now they will not be ready any sooner due to the poor conditions.
It's always waiting untill you are confident, trust your instincts.

I need 2 or 3 fine dry days before I trundle the rotovator down to the plot... up until now it has been too wet or I simply haven't had the time 

My old Howard 200 will help break up the soil ready for planting but wont cope if it gets clogged with wet clay... the weight of the machine will compact the soil too so..... patience
