Hi All,

I took lots of cuttings in the autumn last year of various fruit bushes...  Lots of them are sprouting now in pots but can anyone tell me when they'll be ready to plant out on to my allotment?  They all seem to be getting well established in the pots and most of my plot is still bear, but ready and waiting...!

Traditionally Autumn.  But if they're well-rooted, the ground is prepared and they're kept watered through the summer I can't see why you couldn't put them in now.  But.. make sure they are well rooted in the pots, prepare the ground and keep them watered.  No need to rush things.

Mmmm perhaps i am being a bit too keen, I haven't much growing on there at the moment so if I wait until august I am worried about the plot police coming along and asking why I am not growing anything...

I might have to think of an alternative...

Perhaps an A4 encapsulated notice saying

"To whom it may concern" 

I have crops/plants growing in my greenhouse which I'm allowing to become stronger before being planted here.  Meanwhile work is going on to improve the soil into which they will be planted.   So.  .  .  .

Or just sit the pots on top of the soil
