I've been told that they go for sour milk as much as they go for beer, never tried it though.

They certainly go for the whey which is left over from cheese making

Use amicide on the bamboo - works a treat - then put some on a slug and sit back and watch - they actually swell up till they explode (ok they only sort of burst - but good fun all the same)
