right just got back from holiday and the courgettes have done the usual trick of turning into marrows, i don't want to waste them as the kids love them stuffed but i cant feed them it every day for the next week so can i store them and how long will they keep for?

Having a few giant courgettes is a good thing as it will extend the period you can use them.

When the sun burns up your plants, they get powdery mildew, hit by frost, or simply run out of steam, those 'special size' ones will outlast all the 'standard size' ones in keeping qualities by many weeks.

Probably a bit early for high regards at the moment, more a candidate for marrow recipes, but it wont be long before oversize cougettes are real treasures.

store in a frost free conditions on a bed of straw with slotted shelf base . or netting, we hav had them in january having cut them in october and be perfect for stuffing etc
