Has anyone had any problems locating poppy seeds - as used in bread, salads etc... I just can't find any anywhere!!
For the latest on the BIG project, read my blog.

Most health food shops should have them, but I would imagine that most here grow their own as it's so easy.

Most of the supermarkets stock them - try either the bakery ingredients section or "healthy options" often round the fresh fruit & veg section with nuts beans and pulses. Failing that Holland & Barrat usually have them

Well... I'd tried all the big supermarkets and have just tried again in a different Sainsbury's... and there they were! Thanks for suggestions, everyone!

chuck a few seeds in your garden and they will grow next year and you can harvest your own

how?

Easy-peasy! Place some seeds on the palm of your hand whilst standing next to the area you wish to grow them in, and blow!

You should be able to obtain viable seeds from almost anyone that keeps a garden, the Poppy is a very popular plant, and at this time of year their round seed-heads are easily spotted. One seed-head will produce thousands of tiny Poppy seeds. I'm sure you'll be able to get some just by asking nicely.
Good luck!
