Ben Fogle and cockerel
« on: May 21, 2013, 22:28 »
Watched Ben Fogle visiting a man in Texas, BBC prog. The man kept his cockerel up to 11pm, occasional prod, so the bird would sleep until 6.30am instead of 4.30am.

So did I. Poor bird was really tired and he wouldn't let it sleep. It's cruel really.  They do say putting a perch above the crow's head works. As the bird lifts its head to crow it touches the perch and stops it. Apparently ?

Only an American! If he doesn't want it to crow at 4.30 why doesn't he keep an owl

A cockerel has never learnt to tell the time, never saw the program though

A cock crowing is just one of the prices you have to bear for breeding chickens, you dont need a cockerel too get eggs

I really couldnt see this working though (even keeping a cockerel in a box so it cant raise its head to crow dont work)
It's all about the journey, not the destination
