Very nice cats
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Your pets are all lovely and very photogenic!  I like rats but I have cats and assumed the two would not mix!  I take it they are kept separately?

Azrael - now that's a powerful name for a cat :)

Reminds me of the classic Blackadder sketch "I put it to you that your cat Bubbles is actually Beelzebubbles"  :D :D

An Emperor Scorpion, and would that be Clash of the Titans? I seem to remember a bag of blood resulting in giant scorpions in order to battle Perseus.

Azrael and Biscuit are allowed in the room the rats are kept with human supervision purely because we've had them since kittens, they've learned that they're not to go near the cages. Never in the same room whilst the rats are free ranging though, as much as I trust them whilst the small furries are somewhat unattainable they're both from farm cat stock. Montgomery is not allowed in the same room even with supervision because he was a reluctant barn cat with a history of rat catching. He got in once and showed far too much interest in the cages. The rats don't care about their presence, but again since we've had them since they were young and they came from a house with cats they're used to the scent. Generally though I try and make sure they're never in the same room, Biscuit and Az only come in because they've developed a taste for the hedgehog mix :|

Haha!  He was actually almost called Bubbles for that exact reason, then it was vetoed in favour of a "proper" name

I wondered if it was a scorpion - makes me shudder!

I think rats are quite cute - I used to chat with one down at the allotment (I'm taking the pills now though) - I saw something on telly about wild rats could tell if a human had bad intentions towards them. Certainly Ben the allotment rat didn't seem bothered by me.

However our 5 cats think small furry creatures are actually toys - so maybe not a good pet.

Reminds me of a week long camp with 40 children... it rained a great deal.

Just outside our kitchen door there was a small hole and one evening a cute little nose sticking up out if it. I spotted this and thought I had discovered a mole so dropped little tit-bits near the hole until, after a few days, the creature down the hole was almost taking food from my hand... until I was reliably informed it was a rat!  :tongue2:    :tongue2:   :tongue2:

From then on I used the other kitchen door!  :tongue2:

PS. Jack's lovely Gemma!

Thanks guys!

Yes he's grown SOOOOOoooooo quickly I can't believe it! I want him to be small again :-(

(he was a lot less cheeky then hee hee).

Although saying that now he's bigger we can go on "proper" walks so that's also good ...

Spikey Puss Kitten just proved he is the daftest of the daft after I left the bedroom door open for him and instead of lying on the comfy bed got into the cardboard box I had left on the bed

There is something about having a defined territory - a marked space ....  otherwise why choose the pile of clean pillowcases on the end of the bed or the document left on the floor .....  I suppose it could just be cussedness ....   :D
