This is Basil when he was in his blonde phase!  Cute or what?  The minnie schnauser is Winnie, who is a rescue dog - I discovered that she was almost totally blind when I got her home.  As mentioned by John in a previous post (regarding his cat) she copes incredibly well, and it doesn't impede her enjoyment of life at all.  We go to beaches, forests, hills, dales - any tricky area I get her to walk to heel, and can guide her by voice commands.  When she's on familiar walks, you just wouldn't know she was blind.  The lurcher is the gorgeous Lulu, who is the most wonderful hound I've ever come across! The cats somehow get by with all these dogs!

And the cats ...

Just realised I posted on this thread in 2008.  Sadly my 2 small dogs pictured then passed away in 2009, and the black cat shortly afterward.  Basil and Winnie came to me later in 2009.

This is Indie with mud frozen almost every where but I thought the whiskers looked particularly good - I thought the mud would be completely frozen - got home and spent the next hour in the bath with him - yucky.

Awwww i adore her i am in 2 minds on getting a maine coon at the moment. They are a beautiful breed and probly the best sort to deal with the 3 dogs  :) the only thing thats putting me off is ive always had outdoor cats and theres been a lot of cat thefts in our area and a breed as stunning a a maine coon would probly be gone in seconds   >:( I am very jealous right now lol

Aw that's awful about the thefts, we live in Exeter, not far away if you want to come over for a closer inspection of Beba, she is a bute!

Thought I'd share a few photos
Our blind cat, Amber, has decided the waste paper bin by the fire is a great place to sleep but Nibbles demonstrated she could go one better if we hadn't bothered to put the bread away.
Then there's the rough tough Twotone who comes to visit, feed up and catch up on sleep before heading off through the snow to somewhere else. He must know he's welcome to stay but he's a travelling man.

Don't know if you'd realised it, John, but your cats are bonkers!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Brilliant pics John - two-tone reminds me of our cat Smudge. Still miss him after 10 years.

Amber obviously knows the insulation properties of newspaper.

Nibbles thinks that you will fit the bread in as well and she can have a midnight snack (she is of course invisible).   ???

Twotone well what can I say apart from he is one cool dude.   8)

Thanks for sharing the photos John.   :)
