Hi guys n gals.
Just wondering what if any power you had on your plot, 240v, generator, wind, solar, none ?
I don't have access to a 240 supply and was thinking of wind or solar just to power a couple of LED shed lights when the dark nights start and possibly a kettle, and next year when the pond goes in a pump\aerator on a timer.
Cheers.
John.

Just a single burner stove for my kettle powered with a gas canister. Never found the need to be up there in the dark, don't think I'd like it to be honest

LED lights don't take much power, so a small solar panel and battery will work a light OK. There are also quite a few solar powered water pumps available. However kettles take a lot of power, so a solar pannel and battery pack big enough to run a kettle is going to be expensive.

Cheers guys.
I was thinking to have everything run off a car\leisure battery then a solar panel to trickle charge the battery but that seems like a lot of work for a cuppa and a bit light.
May go with gas stove as Snowdrop suggested and separate solar panels for shed lights and pond pump.
Thanks again.

I have been known to heat a pan of soup or fry the odd bacon sandwich too 😊

I use a gas camping stove and if it's dark enough to need a light a small battery LED lantern. You could make/buy a rocket stove for brewing a cuppa.

I've got a 12v leisure battery and soon will be purchasing a little solar panel with gadget to keep it trickle charged.
This means I can charge phone and speaker, and use it for a 12v bilge pump to fill my tank from the dyke.
My partner has a narrowboat with the same battery and solar panel for his starter and it works well.
I also have a solar trickle charger on my home shed to keep my motorbike battery topped up.
