Last year I grew spuds and French beans in 2 seperatly tarp bags. I've found 1 just now with a bit of compost and these root in the bottom. Was hoping to reuse the compost with spuds as I haven't got much left but won't if its had spuds in before.

Are these spud, French bean or other roots?

Spuds are quite greedy feeders so I wouldn't be tempted to re use the compost for spuds unless you have a bit of supplementary feeding for them.

Maybe something from when you purchased the compost. I would have said a root like carrot or parsnip too.
