Title: Centipede/millipedes
Post by: Nobby1969 on March 24, 2024, 11:44
Hi All
Hope everyone is well on this beautiful spring morning.
New to site and was looking for some advice)info.
I have planted a few (10) onion sets last week ,a bit early I know for Glasgow area .
Had a wee poke about and decent roots have started . Noticed lots of small curled up worm type creatures on closer inspection look like centipede/ millipede. My concern is that they are congregated all over the onion set ,are they likely to cause damage. ? I have included a photo. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Hello and welcome to this great forum. Not sure if they will cause damage myself as I don't grow onions but see what the others say.

Hi Nobby, welcome to the forum.
That looks more like a millipede than a centipede. Does it have tiny legs all along the sides, (very tiny, like a long row of bristles)?
