Went outside to switch off a light around midnight - incredible. -2ºC, clear sky with some twinkly stars and the moon so bright it was almost day.
Blue sky, freezing point out there. Frost whitening the grass. Glad the wood store is full! Calor tank at 75%

Update: it's been a bit of snow, bit of sleet, bit of hail - rinse and repeat! Woodburner keeping us toasty on free wood in kitchen / diner

15 C and waterlogged. 

In the past month, we've had nearly 8 inches of rain, compared to just over 12 inches for all of summer.  The difference, of course, is too much rain now compared to evapotranspiration (ET), whereas during the summer, we had too little rain relative to ET.

Proper snow in Consett round corner so winter has come. It may only be -2C here but with the wind chill it feels like -7C according to the forecast. The little bit of snow that fell late yesterday has frozen to an ice sheet at the door. Forecast pretty much the same for the next few days with a bit of mist/fog thrown in for the weekend. Loverly.

We've got a heavy frost, with -2C (with a feels like of -7C according to MetO)) and it is bright and sunny.

It's near  plus 4ºC here but it looks a bit Bing Crosby with snow patches.

Repeat of yesterday - cold overnight -4c and light dusting of snow, frosty and still struggling to get above 0c. Sunny patches but with grey snow clouds mixed in.

Very cold night with freezing fog and a heavy frost.  When I let the chickens out I had the robin and blackbird giving me looks until I broke the ice on the pond for them to have a drink and chucked them some robin mix seeds.

Light snow covering, pretty chilly around freezing. Not much going to get done outside today

All I know is it's 'blinking' cold, with the odd bit of dry snow blowing up the terrace. Brrr

Another repeat today - light dusting of snow -4c overnight and -1c now. Feels warmer out though as the bitter wind has dropped. Doesn't feel warming inside though and I've put the heating on.

First snow for us in Jarrow.. we're lucky to get any as we're not far from the coast.
It was -4⁰c yesterday morning, -4⁰c overnight but it felt much warmer than yesterday morning. Our heating is on at a steady 18.5⁰c but will rise later once Mrs R starts to cook the dinner!

Very old, with thick heavy cold the frost hasn’t lifted in 3 days, even had a flurry of white stuff a couple of times . Almost looks foggy the cloud is so low. Really not a day to be out in or stand in the garden club store for my duty day this morning, but it was nice to see the store volunteers & committee members I’d invited for a coffee & mince pie .
