Has anyone had any luck growing butternut squash in a polytunnel i have tried before but never had any luck

You problem may be the lack of pollinators (bees). Did you try hand pollinating?

Have you seen this ? http://allaboutallotments.com/Butternutsquash.html Whilst not strictly a poly tunnel , his 'squash house' must have faced the same pollination issues.

Thanks dd i did have door and window open occaisionally,maybe not enough ,never thought of hand pollinating as i do with other curcabits and aubergines think ill grow them outside this year. Darren
