lettuce id
« on: July 01, 2009, 15:22 »
Hi there, in to year 2 now on the plot and spent 2 great hours last night pulling up nettles and then soaking them in the wheelie bin and giving some weak nettle tea to all the transplanted veggies.

I planted salad a month ago and I am sure #1 is lambs lettuce

Is #2 perpetual spinich / chard?
do I just add it to the salad bowl as is?

Thanks and good to be back

Think your bang on with Lambs L. Chard can be eaten several ways, raw or cooked, my fave is shredded, heat some oli up in a pan, add some crushed garlic add fry until soft, add some chopped toms and fry a few mins, add a knob of butter and then the chard, stir until wilted and serve.
