I know it's a very long shot as a Quad is not something you see on an allotment every day

I have my ATV assessment tomorrow and the course was only one day long! Basic controls of buttons, how to turn lights on, how to get panels off and check fuel etc. weren't properly explained by the instructor I was given, so I wasn't aware I would have to demonstrate. I think the one I'll be using is a Yamaha Grizzly, though I'm not sure of the exact model

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You did not say what you plan to use the "toy" for...
Forrestwork, farming, countryside off-road travelling/riding?
IF you plan to use it in traffic... don't! Way too dangeros form of transportation. Not Worth the risks.

Seems to be lots of problems with the gearboxes and shafts on quards (in general).
Stay far away from "made in chine" Machines, less you are given one (or getting paid).

Generally, Japanse bikes are of good quallity at fair prices - so I prefed BMW beemers and ride a Honda CX500 currently since my beemers are sitting in my workshop waiting for some major TLC.

You will need to brows the net and previous posts are also recommend to study.

Thanks for your replies both. I'll have to have a good browse online and hopefully won't actually have to buy a manual for one!

Just transporting loads round a countryside estate really, no real roads involved thankfully!  :)

Carry loads?...
You need to look into several aspects of the quads then...  Have a look at Swedish, Finnish, Canadian (american) and Australian sites depicting hunting. Elks in Scandinavia weigh roughly 700kg, in Canada they are far heavier. Reinders weigh up to About 400kg.
Our "new" pest, which is beginning to compeat with the Brittish rabbit "plague", is wild boards. These monsters weighs in at around 300kg.
Quads are widely used by hunters - but which quads?
