moulting...?
« on: November 18, 2007, 12:34 »
Hi, one of my chooks is moulting but want to rule out it isn't anything else...she has no feather on the scruff of her neck and under her wings and generally looks down trodden, the other five are fit and well but just wanted to check with some one who has more experience, we have had them since point of lay and this is our second winter with them.  They all have slowed down with laying and on a bad day we get one or no eggs...I guess this is normal with low light now, we were lucky last year in that they kept laying through the winter...

Thanks Sarah  :o

Thanks for that, I'll check for mites...good tip re the vaseline, I guess this helps keep scaly mites off?
Probably a mess up due to the mild temperatures we have had not too long ago...

Thanks  Sarah
