Right, come on chaps ... need some help here please!  Bumper crop of black grapes (we grow a vine in the greenhouse for shade), but don't know what to do with them.  They've got a lot of pips in them, so presumably good for jellies??  Ashamed to admit they've mostly gone on the compost in previous years as no-one except me can manage the 'texture', but this year I'm determined to do something productive with them!  Suggestions please ...

If you don't mind a bit of fiddling, grape juice is lovely. You need to boil them to soften them and then strain them. There are loads of recipes and instructions on the net. Otherwise I just cook them and freeze them for use in pies etc.

My vine produced loads of small but pippy black grapes this year, but I have to admit I didn't thin the bunches so my own fault they were small.

Those out of reach of the chickens    are in the freezer for a batch of wine at some point, but I've made grape jelly before. Good on it's own on toast and also useful for adding into gravies and sauces
