Title: Pig Nuts

years ago an old countryman pulled up a plant and scraped the bulbous root with his penknife and offered it to me telling me it was a pig nut. From what I can remember it was sweet and delicious. Has anyone else tried them and can you enlighten me on what the plant was ?????
