Are they the same age trees?

The main trunk looks very thick on the bottom tree and the laterals are not easily distinguishable. Gonna be a right old palaver to get that up to the standard of the other fan

Believe it or not the Morello is a year older (planted 2005)! Looks like I will lop the 2 large laterals back to the top of the wall and probably take the main 'trunk' back to where the large laterals start and then see what other growth appears to use as new fan laterals. But I am tempted to let it fruit this year, prune hard in the summer to contain any further upwards growth and lop the 'trunk' at the end of the season (after the birds and I have had a few nice, sweet cherries!). Whatever happens I will not let it damage the wall - cheaper to plant another tree somewhere else!
