HATCHING!!!!!
« on: September 09, 2010, 15:20 »
ooh - Lacey has successfully managed to hatch a few of the eggs - this is day 21.  Should I leave her alone to keep them warm or should I continue to lift her off for her food & loo breaks?   Soooo excited  ::) :D

leave her well alone, just make sure she has chick crumb and water close by she will bring her chicks out when she is ready in a day or two  :)

Congratulations to you and well done Lacey.  Be prepared for hours and hours of entertainment, it's a fantastic time.  Just make sure all you work is done during chicks sleep time or nothing will get done.
3 dogs now, 2 passed RIP Poppy and Paige, one wonderful husband and a new adventure on this wonderful island

luckily I find it really easy to ignore housework & chores anyway - it's not that I don't have standards, they are just really low  :D

when I can't resist any longer then I will post some pics...... trying not to harass a chicken is surprisingly hard!  ::)  especially when you can hear the peep peep peep from under her wings  :)

I'm so excited for you!  We are hoping our Viva and Violet will start hatching around the month of November....if our Violet survives a rather difficult Airedale assult.  No dog in the terrier family is worth anything in my opinion.  Sorry, if that offends some of you.

All the best to Lacey and her chicks!
