Please let me apologize for my simple allotmenteer neighbour "Sharkwatch" for bothering you good people who are obviously passionate about your foul.

He seems to have picked up on a comment I made to him about his
BLUE CHICKEN LEGS!!!

Somehow he has misconstrued this flippant comment about his knees and has took the time to bother you good people.

Aunt Sally, that ban button you mentioned before? well you might want to exercise your mouse button finger....

I may well dear  :!:

On BOTH of you  :!:

Araucanas, Cream Legbars and Skylines (should be a favourite of yours   ) all lay blue eggs  :D

The last two are hybrids. watch this space because next year I'm contemplating running an Aracuna cock with my Light Sussex hens and producing 'Bodger Blues' Whats in a name anyway ?

Skylines have about a 50 - 70% likelyhood of laying blue eggs. Would the same be true of Bodgers Blues  :?:

Thanks for the replies, it appears I still have much to learn before taking the poultry plunge.

After Beadwindows mocking response, when I do get the chooks I will be sure to release them upon his allotment to feed upon his brassicas, though with his measly veg crop my poultry would surely starve.

Just wondered though, do the blue eggs have a slightly different flavour to 'normal' eggs?

Beadwindow,

I am trying to keep this discussion sensible so I can learn something about poultry before making some big allotment decisions.

I would prefer it if you took your wooden spoon to another thread - perhaps entitled 'idiotic, inane chatter for simpletons' they might make you the moderator as you are obviously the subject matter expert.

Regards - Sharkwatch.

Oxford English Dictionary - Normal - usual, typical

I would argue that as most chickens do not lay blue eggs that blue chicken eggs are therefore not 'normal'.

Babe - time to break the news to Poppy and Tulip - they are abnormal.

Is it not that these blue eggs are abnormal that makes them interesting?
