locked gates
« on: May 28, 2018, 18:13 »
hi all'  on our site one of two gates has permantly been closed , the only other gate is located in a council owned play park which has a barrier that is locked 6pm , so anybody that likes to tend to their plot in the evening has to park outside on the surrounding roads, now if anyone was to have an accident the emergency services would not be able to gain access to the site surely this must contravene health and safety laws, apart from making it awkward if you have anything heavy to carry down to your plot.
any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated
                                                                              thankyou

Were you told why the other gate was being permanently closed ? It seems a bit strange

the other gate is on a lane where new housing is being built and the plan is to permantly close the lane to traffic which only leaves one gate that is inaccessible after 6pm which seems unreasonable as some members are elderly and like to drive on to the site

You need to get the message across loud and clear that the new arrangements don't work, and why - if no helpful response try local councillors and paper?

Perhaps it could be locked with a numerical lock and all plot holders have access to it as and when.
