has anyone got any advice/opinions on the cheap tillers advertised in newspapers. the mantis has gone out the window due to having to replace shower, tv, washing machine, car exhaust all in last 2mths. thanks

Try ebay for a 2nd hand mantis , I got an old 2stroke a few years ago for 40 quid.

It will last longer than the cheaper models you see in the paper.

I agree 100%...I did bite the bullet at the start of the year and bought one, their great, but they are only a tiller and not a rotavator.  Try your local papers, Gumtree, and the free adds....you may strike lucky. ;)

I have a Mantis. It tills down to about eight or nine inches - but what do you plant that needs to go deeper than that?

Save and get one!
