This is Molly my rescue cat - I'm not allowed to touch her yet, but at least she has stopped hiding under the bed :nowink:

I wish you well. To have got so far is an achievement. I'm sure it will all come together in time!

She is gorgeous. I love grey cats. I had a beautiful silver semi longhaired one I brought home. She lived in an old volvo in a big mechanics yard. She had a day or two under the bed as well. :nowink:

Welcome To Molly, she looks interested in you taking her photo :). She'll be on your lap before you know it.

Only the best quality

What a beauty. :)

She's lovely, but of course I don't do cats. Welcome to the rescue cat club.
-
Molly is stunning, so pleased she found you :)
-
I'm not feeling quite as happy this morning, as she has kept me awake all night ???
It was like having a colicky baby again  and of course now I'm up she's gone under the bed and back to sleep. I tried to sleep some more but it didn't work :(
Maybe I'll get a catnap later on ..........................
-
Oh dear. Mine did that too. I did a night shift a few days after she arrived and she was particularly dreadful for my OH. He was up all night and saying she could go back if she was going to keep that up. Hope you get a chance to rest later today.
-
Glad Molly has appeared now --- she looks beautiful and will be good company I'm sure, when she has stopped meowling in the night :nowink:
Thanks for the picture :D

Bless. We had months of being woken by playful, chrruping kitten at 3am, not yelling, as we can't shut the bedroom door for various reasons he has free run. We thought he was so cute the first time he managed the wooden stairs...so high for tiny kitten. That wore him out and he could be put back in his box downstairs.
But as soon as he found out we were on the bed, another epic climb and he made it! And that was is....so cute and then not funny when play/kneading/sucking on any limb available kicked in. OH started to bring all animals downstairs so I could sleep...being a man he can sleep anywhere.
Now the battle is keeping him off the kitchen units. A syringe of water is always to hand....but you can hear him at night, lightfooted he aint!
Hoping castration in a month will settle him down.
Good luck with your little grey cat, I'm sure it will be worth the sleepless nights. But a playmate might help her settle, could post you a nice little ginger and white boy tomorrow......

Just read a book called "Tilly" about a very nervous rescue cat who hid under the bed for ages, but I think yours may have a bit more confidence. It will be lovely to see her character emerge.
-
Doesn't that usually start with "Why is my food bowl a little bit empty?" ! :D
My adoptee cat has a few biscuits, all of the milk or tuna water and then demands to have more biscuits!

You should not be feeding your cat Milk, Kevin, it's very bad for them:

Sorry - I use milk generically. I mean the cat milk that has been modified. Sorry to cause alarm and worry.
I did try water but the cat wasn't having any of it. He does like Tuna Spring Water though!

Today I was allowed 2 small strokes of her head before I was told no more :D
and yes, she is still being a little piggy ::)
She was quiet last night but she now has a few (more) toys to play with, which may have helped.
and Tosca, thanks for the offer, but please no cat donations :nowink:

All our cats have been rescue cats. One was especially nervous. One day, I tied a cork on a piece of string, sat on the floor with my legs stretched out and got her used to me by flinging the cork about while she hopped over my legs trying to catch it. Not much work for me, but she forgot to be nervous of me and wore herself out. Ended up falling asleep right next to me, allowing me to fuss her as she was dozy and snoozing. So she got used to being handled as well.

Great minds think alike, had a similar play session this morning, so she's sparko now - good idea for late this evening m'thinks
-
She is beautiful! :) Hope she settles in really quickly. And that you get some sleep!
-
She's a cutie, won't take long to come around, once she settles and realizes there just the home comforts to worry about.
All you have to worry about, is when 1 turns into 4 and number 5 is being friendly at the front door... ::)
-
She has checked out the bathroom, noting to worry about there ;) atm she has crossed the landing and is exploring my bedroom.
I just hope she doesn't sit on the ironing pile

So sweet

We have had a bit of a different problem with our "rescue cat". Inverted commas as we didn't rescue him, he just moved in. We already have 5 cats acquired or foisted on us from various sources so didn't think that another would chance their arm trying to move in. How wrong can you be...
George managed it through a charm offensive and rapidly moving from rubbing up against us outdoors for cuddles and sneaking into steal food to sleeping on the bed in about 4 weeks! He put his mark on the house (in Nick's case literally when he sprayed up his leg one morning!) and we decided at that point he might be staying but his testicles weren't!

-
I'm glad Molly is already neutered
-
I did point out that George had literally started a pissing contest and there was a solution but Nick wouldn't wee on the cat so George won and he knows it, even after castration!

Cats always win  and even when they don't, they refuse to ackowledge they were ever in the wrong, deny everything while fixing you with a withering stare, then stalk off in disgust with their tails held high

Beautiful cat MoS :)
-
Yes, but that's not what I'm thinking a 4am when she's meowing *sigh*
I'm hoping it's just a phase ::) :D
-
Bear with her MOS, our lad is sleeping much better now.
-
It is a (backhanded) compliment - She is starting to bond and gets anxious that you might not still be there when she wakes.
We had that with one of ours after he had spent a fortnight in a cattery. He meowed to wake me up, so I acknowledged him, he was then convinced I was still there and we both settled again. And repeat. Initially several times a night and then slooooooowly reduced down as his anxiety level dropped. Took a year before he was completely confident again. (Never again did he go into a cattery. ::))
