Yellowing wallflower leaves.

I sowed some wallflowers then potted them on in MPC but now I'm finding that the lower leaves are going yellow and dropping off despite being watered and foliar fed. I've noticed this happen with bought-in ones so wondering if this is the norm and that they'll be ok.
