Hen prolapse

Hello, we have hybrid chickens about 2yrs old. Weve had two chickens now that have had prolapse. Sadly the first one died about couple of months ago. We've washed and kept the recent chicken to have prolapse which happened this morning separate from the other chickens;- any advice on this or why it keeps happening would be greatful of. Hi and welcome to the forum.

Prolapses are often associated with problems laying eggs.  This is a recent thread on the subject, but if you do a search within this board, you will find a lot of threads dealing with the same thing over the years.  Soft shell eggs are often eaten by the other hens so you may not have seen one.

Unfortunately there is a limited amount you can do with a hen once they prolapse.  If it doesn’t go back in and stay in, it is usually recommended to end their suffering  :(
