Freesias...

I'd really like to crack growing freesias!

Mrs Growster is well into growing Sweet Williams for the house, and also manages to fill the place with Sweet Peas, and Wallflowers, but I tried to grow Freesias several years ago with no success at all!

I like Sarah Raven's notes, but would prefer to hear from chums here, how they manage to grow them!

Any tips please? I think I'll start from scratch again, so have a blank expression..;0)

I've tried on & off over the years but never been successful. So no tips to offer I'm afraid.

I received some free freesia corms with a plant order last year and planted them in pots. I got a really good display, but absolutely nothing this year.  The corms actually still look healthy and firm and have cormlets on them (if that's the correct term) but not a shoot to be seen this year.

So like the other posters, I can't really answer your question.  Sorry.

Of course we can!  Now then, on the subject of Freesias - if GYO Girl's freesia bulbs are to go by, maybe this year's funny climate just doesn't do it for them.
