I can't grow confessions

Cress.

I know it's the easiest thing to grow but I want a little carton like you buy in the shop. Mine is always hit and miss some half an inch some really tall. I want consistency and I can't achieve it yet. I usually do mine on damp kitchen towel.

It's frustrating as even kids can grow it.

Make me feel better and confess below  :D

spring onions

never seem to get anywhere with them. So I plant spare shallot and onion sets and use them instead

Parsley.  Can't get it to germinate, and if it does, it either doesn't grow or goes to seed immediately - my neighbours grow forests of the stuff.

Oi nothing wrong with 5 foot 3. Unless you want to reach the top shelf in the supermarket or pick a tall sunflower head, or do a million and one things us shorties can't do.

I am adding runner beans to my confession, I am having a one year blip

There are two old wives tales about parsley ....  it only grows
 -  where there is a baby on the way
 -  where the woman wears the trousers

take your pick .....   :D :D

Have you tried soaking the seeds for 24 hours before sowing?

Carrots, get grazed off before they get to three inches tall. It would be an achievement for me to get them big enough to be bothered by the carrot fly.

I do the boiling -water-down-the-drill thing and it worked well for me on clay soil last year.  Otherwise I split a lidl 99p pot up and transplant  ;)  Have got some of that growing on nicely this year and saves the faff.

Tomatoes.  O the shame  ???

ps. and 5ft. sort of. Just. :D

Spring onions for me too  ::)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
