my 'emergency' meal is spaghetti, with creme fraiche, onions, garlic, lardons, & parmesan.....luvely jubbly.....and have given it to (surprise :evil: ) guests, they have all enjoyed it.

Mine's rice and beans with a veg stock cube added, maybe a bit of spice.

I think thats called rice and peas and tings.

Oh well, if we are talking about favourite, emergency, cheap meals, mine will have to be cook plenty of pasta in boiling water with loads of frozen mixed veg and sliced onions, done all in one pan, saves washing up and fuel! Then make a white sauce, and stir in one small tin of tuna per 2 people, season to taste. Mix into pasta and veg and voila, full tummies and purses!!!!

When I worked in London and got home sometimes at 8pm, OH would say, oh I didn't know what to do for dinner, so I thought you could make your tuna and pasta. I would have done it, but I can't make white sauce!!!
