Hi, This is the first year for me growing strawberries. They have been doing really well on my patio in their containers. Today though I have noticed that some of the new leaves coming through are brown round the edges (see photo). Has anyone any idea what is wrong and if I need to do any thing differently. Thank you.

It happens often, with all sorts of plants, I think, most likely the several very cold nights we had. I think, they'll be fine and recover. Just tend them as normal.

Make sure they're getting fed with something like Tomorite to keep them healthy so as to be more resistant to things like this.

Yes. It's happened to me, and it happens when I grow them in containers, but not when grown in the ground.

I can only presume the cause is either stale compost, ie grown in the same soil for more than a year, or when the roots are too restricted as they will be if the containers aren't deep enough and there are several plants included within.

Also strawberries uptake a lot of water, and in containers, any neglect to the point that they start to wilt will stress the plants. Once that happens, the new leaves. as well as older ones start to brown from the edges, and even once you've watered them, the issue seems to continue.
