Is it a mistake to add sand?
« on: January 08, 2012, 18:46 »
Hi all,

My coop is muck bottom, and it has quite healthy soil, I constantly turn it over to re-fresh the soil as no water/rain can get to it thus keeping my chooks warm & dry all year round.

My chooks normally dust bath in the soil quite happily but today I have purchased a bag on playing sand and added into the coop bottom/muck ......
(thinking this will be better for dust bath for them)

what do you think?????

I've done the same a few times, they enjoy mixing it all together.  :)
