All the Japanese onions,shallots, and garlic I planted 4 weeks ago is sprouting like mad. will they be o.k or will any frost (if we get any) kill the young growth. Should I plant some more as a back up?

I thought they were classified as hardy (down to -7°C) - so they should be ok?

Mine are sprouting as well, see this photo taken on 21st October.

Garlic has survived -25°C with me

My garlic and currently sprouting spring bulbs  :roll:  easily come through -40C when we get our worst bit of cold. Mind, we do have snow cover which helps a lot. So, if in doubt, mulch later.

My onions are also sprouting but not the shallots or garlic yet. I don't think they need any covering in the winter.
