   Why straw at this time of year Munty ? I've only used it later to keep flowers and fruit out of the mud. Won't it just provide cosy winter quarters for pests? Livin an Lernin     Bob

nah its helps keep the roots warm ......... and save ya time in spring   ,,, and if like me you dont have nasties hanging around ya plot ,,,,, you nuke the * well before hand  :evil:  :evil:  :evil:
