winter cauliflower

thinking ahead with nothing much to do when its raining here for two days except in the greenhouse or looking through the seed catalogue yes looking through the seed catalogue for a possible good cauliflower to overwinter

I've  looked at the site information regarding growing cauliflowers and its I have to say is good sound advise so its now down to what varieties to choose to sow around October November Boris seems worth trying as does Maybach  both these varieties are recommended to grow in modules in a polytunnel to overwinter and plant out in march the following year would harvest around June/July the following year

i just wondered if anyone out there grows cauliflower overwinter by sowing and planting outdoors or the other method sowing in moduels overwintering in greenhous or pilytunnel planting out the moduel plants in March and what varieties you would recomend trying

I grew some late "all the year round" caulis from seed last year and they did quite well over the winter till the rains came. Had a crop which would have been better had the weather not taken its toll. Just did what I normally do with caulis at any time of the year.

I grow Walcheren Winter caulis which are v similar - I think they're both from the same stock (Armado).

I was considering putting a couple of late sown 'All Year Round' in the polytunnel over winter, anyone else tried doing the same?
