Well, still having some problems with my lethargic, wet pooing hen, Blanche. She's been sitting down a lot and has been returning to the coop often. I had some concerns (because of a bit of shaking) that she was egg bound. I got changed (for fear of poo) and picked her up, rosey away. I only noticed the lad next door looking out his window as I was touching her vent…
Oh dear...

Ooooer missus - you'll be the talk of the neighbourhood now ::)

Even worse since it was pitch black!

Yes - perhaps some things are best done in private and behind closed doors! The Husband has valiantly removed a tick from our dog's private parts and washed our rabbit's parts when she was poorly and had badly soiled herself. I have also done numerous bottom washing exercises on the chickens (The Husband draws the line at that point!). Needless to say we always make sure the neighbours are away!

Who cares what the neighbours think. You do what you have to do.
The lad looking out of the window probably doesn't know where his food comes from.
Be proud that you are a caring human

I talk to mine all the time when i am outside and my neibours think i am bonkers so dont worry about it.

I second Paul's remark. Anyway, they probably do bonkers things too.

I thank my chickens and tell them how clever they are when they lay an egg. The chap next door throws a ball and his dog takes i back to him and he thanks and tells his dog how clever he is. It's the same thing isnt it?

Yours is better - you have the gift that keeps on giving. You tried to eat a hard boiled ball?
