...do you get in 2kg (roughly)?

I've just ordered some Pixie from Tuckers Seeds and I'm not sure how much space to leave for them.

I do like the idea of fresh spuds for Christmas dinner!

I think 2kg would get you about 20-30 seed potatoes so if you plant them a foot apart then 20-30 ft of space needed  I suppose :?:

Now I might remember wrong, but I think I get a pound/about half a kilo of seed spuds 18-20, 2kg is definitely lots more.

It will hugely depend though on individual size of seed pots, hard to say for very near match, as size can vary quite a bit.

I see what you mean, gobs. £1 a kilo from our local nursery, but in this case you are paying for the specialised treatment of the spud, which means you've still got a viable tuber for planting at this time of year - even into July.

So, in terms of space, based on the responses I think I'm going to leave one of my (roughly) 4m x 2m beds for them - I'm sure I'll either find takers if I have too many, or some lettuce seed if I have too few!

(sorry, forgot to label this one as my numpty question of the day - I do seem to be coming up with a lot of them, but I do try to find somebody at the lotty site to ask if I think of them while I'm there ... getting to know a lot of the old timers!)
