We have a well know Coffee company cafe based at our offices.  I noticed the other day that the new cups have a  recycling symbol on them and the company has confirmed they can now go in the recycling bins. 

I was wondering if any one has tried adding them to a compost bin?  Will they break down ok? 

I have 2 large black daleks in the garden and always have more green than brown waste so a few coffee cups each week might help.

If they are paper-based and recycleable, I reckon they'd go fine in the dalek. Also, as you say, they'll boost the brown/dry waste.

they will be fine to rot down including the coffee grinds...

yeh they should be fine to compost, also alot of the coffee shops give away coffee grinds to their customers!

Bought some home to chuck in the composter tonight.  I did have a fantastic supply of coffee grounds (1 sackful a week) courtesy of OH - but he's not visiting that site anymore and work coffee shop won't let me have theirs as they said it's too difficult to store them
